Learn when to replace the Duux Blizzard main PCB and follow step-by-step installation instructions to restore your fan's performance.
Quick answer
Replace the Duux Blizzard main PCB when your fan stops powering on, loses variable speed control, or shows erratic behavior. Confirm your Blizzard model is DXMA04 or DXMA05 before ordering.
When replacement is necessary
The main PCB is the electronic brain of your Blizzard fan. If the fan does not respond to the remote, fails to start, or runs at only one speed despite multiple settings, the circuit board may be faulty. Physical damage like burn marks or a cracked board also indicates replacement is needed.
Before assuming the board is bad, check the power supply and remote batteries. A tripped breaker or dead remote can mimic PCB failure. If those are fine and the issue persists, proceed with a new Blizzard Main PCB.
Compatibility check is critical
The Blizzard Main PCB is designed exclusively for Blizzard types DXMA04 and DXMA05. Installing it in an incompatible model risks damage or poor fit. Locate your fan's model number on the rating label (usually on the base or back of the motor housing) before ordering.
If your Blizzard type is not DXMA04 or DXMA05, this replacement board will not work. Contact Duux support to find the correct part for your model.
Step-by-step installation
- Unplug the fan and remove the grille: Disconnect the Blizzard fan from the power outlet. Remove the front grille by unscrewing the retaining ring or clips. Set the grille aside. Never work on a plugged-in fan; accidental power-on can cause injury.
- Access the main PCB: Locate the control housing (usually behind the fan head or on the base). Remove the housing screws and gently lift the cover. The PCB is the green or blue circuit board inside. Take a photo of the wiring before disconnecting anything to aid reassembly.
- Disconnect the old PCB: Carefully unplug all wire connectors from the old board. Note which connector goes where. Remove the mounting screws and lift out the old PCB. Avoid pulling on wires; use a small flathead screwdriver to gently release connector clips.
- Install the new Blizzard Main PCB: Position the new PCB in the same orientation. Secure it with the mounting screws. Reconnect each wire connector to its matching terminal, referring to your photo. Double-check that each connector clicks fully into place; loose connections cause intermittent faults.
- Test before reassembling: Plug the fan in and turn it on. Test all speed settings and the remote control. If everything works, unplug the fan again and reattach the housing cover and grille. If the fan still malfunctions, re-check connector seating; a misaligned pin is a common oversight.
